So I'm watching the Christmas Cottage (JARED IN SCARVES, OK? MANY OF THEM.DONT JUDGE ME.) and this is now OFFICIALLY the SECOND movie Jared and Richard Burgi have been in together. A fact that makes me happy on SUCH A STUPID LEVEL I CANNOT EVEN.
I think it goes without saying that I am drunk right now, but I'm kind of sad I never got around to getting any of the Sentinel on dvd because tonight? Home by myself, drink on wine and all hopped up on cookie dough and Doritos? I WOULD SO WATCH THE SENTINEL. I AM JUST SAYING.
Also, the other day I read like, a few ds fics for no reason other than I missed Ray and Fraser.
I know!
In other news, I will completely deny this post in the morning.

So the Mr. is away for the weekend and was supposed to fly home tomorrow which is, you know, NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN NOW with a freaking BLIZZARD coming, but whatever.

Yesterday I did that dvd track meme where you pick a section of a fic and I talk about it. And la_perkins picked a section from an old Jensen/Chad fic.
So I reread the fic, did the meme, and then drove to work thinking about Jensen and Chad and how awesome they are and how the wrong little part of my soul still kind of loves them more than breathing.
And then I sat down and wrote this.

Well. Hello there, again.
I feel a little like, every time I get into a routine with LJ (and writing) again, my life blows up in a way that sends me scurrying back into disarray and hiding. Clearly my real life is jealous of our relationship, LJ, and is trying to come between us.
Bastards.
Thank you very much, everyone who wished me a happy birthday. This was kind of a nonentity birthday for me this year (for obvious reasons) but I still had a really lovely day. Thank you for that.
I spent about a week in a funk of do-nothing—including writing—but this week, I've been more energetic, puttering around the house, getting my errands run, and getting some writing done.
I had an idea for a Criminal Minds AU that I may end up turning into an original story instead. As fanfic, I'm intimidated by the length; I'm just not up for another long story right now. As original fic, I'm intimidated by the necessary research since pretty much everything I know about the Bureau comes from TV. So I don't know.
Mostly, I'm just grateful to be writing anything. I thought about signing up for a yuletide pinch hit, since I had to so ignobly back out, but I think it's a pipe dream; I'm feeling too shaky about my ability to produce on demand and I can't face bailing twice, especially this close to the deadline. So.
Thinking about January or February, I've still got that JDM ficathon thing I proposed a couple months ago. Which leads me to present the question to the electorate: what kind of ficathon do y'all want?
Option 1: a straight fic exchange where you make a request and you fulfill a request.
Option 2: a prompt based 'thon, where people make prompts and participants pick the prompt they want, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Option 3: free-for-all. Everyone writes whatever they want, as long as JDM is a major character.

Guys, I have written thousands of words in the past two weeks. THOUSANDS. It's kind of awesome.
Except for how, you know, I write them, reread them the next day, and realize they SUCK and are HORRIBLE and I DELETE them all and start over. And then I do the same thing the next day too.
BRILLIANT. So brilliant I'm ready to, you know, STAB MYSELF IN THE FACE from it.
Anyway, you know, a meme! To kill some time before I sit down and write something else today that I'll delete tomorrow!
Pick a paragraph (or any passage really; I don't particularly care about a word count) from any fanfic I've written, and comment to this post with that selection. I will then give you a DVD commentary on that snippet: what I was thinking when I wrote it, why I wrote it in the first place, what's going on in the character's heads, why I chose certain words, what this moment means in the context of the rest of the fic, lots of awful puns, and anything else that you'd expect to find on a DVD commentary track.

Guys, a long time ago, like before I got pregnant I think so sometime in, uhm, 2006 most likely, someone made an AWESOME SPN vid to an Iron and Wine song, but I dont have it saved and don't even remember what song it was and, SIGH. This is so random but does anyone a) know what I'm talking about, and b) if you do, have a LINK for it?
Because that would be awesome. I'm just saying. |
